Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The Office of Research and Engagement provides support and strategic direction to faculty, staff, and students for research and creative endeavors resulting in scholarship, innovation, economic development, and community engagement. Fostering a culture of research integrity, the Office promotes a vigorous and robust learning environment, supports innovation, and facilitates reciprocal partnerships that transform the public research university for the 21st century, making a difference in the lives of students and the communities it serves.
Position Summary
This position will oversee and manage statewide Synar activities that emphasize working with LME/MCO's prevention providers. It will provide training and technical assistance to prevention providers on best practices to educate statewide tobacco retailers on reducing youth access and tobacco law in an effort to reduce tobacco youth access by persons under the age of 21 in NC.
Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, business administration, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Three years of administrative experience involving participation in the planning and management of a business or government program, consultation or coordination specifically related to the program assigned.
  • Practical experience in community planning, project management, development, and public relations activities or high-level administrative skills are required.

Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates
Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management certification (PMP) is preferred.
  • A related Master's Degree and expertise gained by previous experience working with federal SYNAR regulations.
