Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs semi-skilled and skilled assignments in the areas of electrical, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, locksmith, HVAC and landscaping for facility construction, maintenance and repair projects. Operates hand tools, power tools, equipment, machinery and vehicles in a competent and safe manner, using appropriate safeguards and safety equipment. Maintains hand tools, power tools, equipment, machinery and vehicles ensuring they are clean after use and in safe working order according to manufacturer's specifications. Fabricates metal/wood walls in new and old construction environment; hang and finish drywall; prime and paint wall surfaces, install and repair flooring, install and repair ceiling tiles. Requests, inventories, picks up and delivers equipment and supplies required for project completion, ensuring efficient use of materials and resources. Conducts routine and on-demand assessment of assigned maintenance areas, establishing priorities for maintenance tasks and ensuring timely and thorough completion of tasks and projects according to customer needs. Responds to emergency maintenance requests, as assigned. Ensures worksites comply with life safety codes, Joint Commission, OSHA and facility standards, that worksites are cleaned up and all tools, equipment, machinery and materials are accounted for and removed upon daily project completion, and that worksites, shop areas, storage areas are maintained in a clean and orderly condition.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or GED.

EXPERIENCE

  • Five or more years of trade or maintenance experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable fields of maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools related to maintenance tasks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires considerable physical exertion, including climbing ladders and steps and lifting 100 pounds maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Considerable bending, stooping, and standing required in performing routine job tasks.
  • Routine exposure to extreme levels of heat, cold, moisture/wetness, air/noise pollution, and chemical gases and substances.
  • Valid driver's license.
