As a Heavy Equipment Superintendent at Worley, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all aspects of heavy equipment operations on construction projects. You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the safe and efficient use of heavy machinery, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Your leadership will be essential in driving project success by maintaining equipment, optimizing productivity, and fostering a culture of safety and teamwork among the equipment operators.


Key Responsibilities



  1. Equipment Management





  • Manage a fleet of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, cranes, loaders, and other machinery, ensuring proper maintenance, repairs, and replacements as needed.





  • Develop and execute equipment maintenance schedules, ensuring optimal functionality and reducing downtime.





  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to address equipment issues promptly and ensure safe and reliable operation.





  1. Project Coordination





  • Work closely with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements, timelines, and priorities.





  • Plan and allocate equipment resources to projects based on project needs and equipment availability.





  • Coordinate equipment movement and deployment between different project sites as required.





  1. Safety and Compliance





  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations to ensure a safe work environment for all equipment operators and on-site personnel.





  • Conduct regular safety meetings, training sessions, and equipment inspections to promote a strong safety culture.





  1. Team Leadership





  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of equipment operators, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging professional growth.





  • Provide guidance and support to operators in equipment operation techniques, maintenance, and safety practices.





  1. Performance Monitoring and Reporting





  • Monitor equipment performance, fuel consumption, and productivity levels to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.





  • Generate regular reports on equipment utilization, maintenance activities, and performance metrics to management.





  1. Quality Assurance





  • Ensure equipment operators follow project specifications and quality standards, delivering work that meets or exceeds client expectations.





  • Collaborate with quality control teams to address any equipment-related issues affecting project outcomes.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).





  • Proven experience in heavy equipment operations and supervision, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.





  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment maintenance and repair processes.





  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to heavy equipment operations.





  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and collaborate with diverse teams.





  • Proficient in project management software, equipment tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
