Senior Account Manager, Coatings & Adhesives

The Senior Account Manager will preside over a large, pre-existing territory of regional accounts across three different business lines: Performance Additives, Waxes, and Flame Retardants. This role will identify and manage new business opportunities for existing and prospective accounts within the Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, and Elastomers (CASE) industries. The Senior Account Manager will also grow and increase market share to meet and exceed annual sales targets, understand customer needs, and ensure a smooth sales process. The position will report to the Head of Sales Americas, Coating & Adhesives segment in our Additives Business Unit.

Responsibilities

* Plan, organize and implement sales strategies to successfully grow business with assigned accounts

* Lead price negotiations with customers and manage profitability to achieve financial targets

* Effectively plan customer interactions through agendas by establishing clear objectives and goals

* Collaborate with Technical Managers, regional and global stake holders to identify customer needs, recommend specific products/solutions, and opportunities for growth

* Be aware of competing products, services, and current market trends

* Actively participate in team and cross functional meetings

* Interface with Laboratory, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, and CSD regarding customer requests and inquires

* Participate in industry events within the assigned markets and/or geography

* Create, maintain, and manage new opportunities and customers within CRM

* Set realistic expectations with Key Accounts and update forecast needs monthly/quarterly

* Build credibility with Key Accounts through consultative and Value-Based selling approach (VBS)

* Prepare proposals including validated VP, scale up results, and demonstrated performance

* Lead contract negotiations with Key Accounts in the region

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Science, or Business-related field

* Ability to travel up to 50% within the US and Canada

* 5-10 years of combined experience in strategic sales, complex account management, marketing, and business development within the CASE industry

* Strong business acumen and high level of autonomy to make complex decisions within operating guidelines

* Demonstrate proactive thinking and strong problem-solving skills

* An established presence and contacts within the CASE industries

* Demonstrated ability to navigate and influence multiple levels of an organization, including executive/C-Suite decision makers
