Directs a large group of forepeople in a single trade on a construction site. Provides leadership and is responsible for scheduling, workface planning, coordinating, supervising, and ensuring the HSE, proper apprentice training and productivity of trade crews. Monitor costs and quality control.

Typically has 12+ years experience and journey level certification if required.



Plans the work for and allocates the work force in an area areas to maintain adequate manpower balance for the scheduled construction activities. Monitors manpower requirements, efficiency, and productivity of construction crews. Understands and applies the Company labour relations policies.



Works with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance. Broad duties assigned at beginning of projects. Work is assigned in terms of objectives, relative priorities, and critical areas that impinge on work of other units. Work is reviewed to ensure policy conformity and soundness of approach. Informed guidance is available.



Exercises work direction over trade personnel involving guidance and instruction on work methods and checking finished work.



Effectively communicate to staff and construction management team. Ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to recognize and resolve conflict.



Advanced understanding of systems, processes and tools related to trade. Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues. May be involved in the development of new systems, processes and tools.
