This is a full-time in-office position in Houston. Must be able to work independently at an advanced level completing a wide variety of LNG process safety assignments. Has substantial knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices for the control, development, and application of LNG process safety deliverables.

* Ensures team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

* Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.

* Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.

* Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence. Supports checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.

* Knows the project and discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success.

* Gathers data from multiple sources and prepares engineering studies, analyses, calculations, etc. Crafts recommendations and creates final documentation.

* Determines technical issues, defines alternate solutions, establishes pros/cons for multiple solutions, and makes recommendations through official project documents such as technical queries, technical deviations, etc.

* Applies technical experience to address issues on concerns with FERC as it relates to process safety deliverables.

* Creates final documentation incorporating all relevant information and pursues customer approval.

* Reviews and provides meaningful comments to third parties safety studies such as PHA, LOPA and SIL verification, dispersion analysis, QRAs, etc.

* Manages PHA action item closeouts and oversees compliance with management of change.

* Sound knowledge of Safety Critical Elements (SCE) and Inherently Safe Design (ISD) approach. Custodian of SCE Register and SCE Performance Standards.

* Can lead Facility Siting discussions and Construction Emergency Response Action Plan.

* Owner/ reviewer of Operation Phase Emergency Response Plan.

* Effectively coordinates with interdisciplinary counterparts to ensure timely inputs are provided or received to support project delivery.

* Effectively coordinate with pertinent client representatives to provide timely information and coordination to support project execution.

* Serves as resource for lesser experience safety engineers.

* Performs quality checks of internally produced process safety deliverables from the home and support offices.

* Establish credibility as a competent process safety engineer knowledgeable in the design and delivery of LNG services.

* Engineering Report writing skills.

* Contribute to the development of project cost estimates.

QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field required.
  • 8+ years minimum relevant experience in refining and petrochemical industry.
  • Experience working with FERC is preferred.


Professional Engineers license preferred.
