Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hydraulics Engineer in our Lincoln, NE office.

What you will do:

The Hydraulics Engineer will support a broad range of environmental and civil engineering projects by leading evaluation of hydrology and hydraulics.

Specific responsibilities include:



  • Drainage design, drainage studies for existing culverts and storm sewer systems, floodplain analysis, reservoir routing, and breach analysis.
  • Manage tasks that will include field data collection, data analysis, modeling, and design drawings/specifications.
  • Perform data management, evaluation, and integration using interfaces with ArcGIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Conduct complex hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis for watersheds, dams, levees, sediment capture structures, and river systems.
  • Oversee production and preparation of scientific and engineering studies and reports.
  • Coordinate work of staff from multiple engineering and scientific disciplines in the Midwest region and across the country.
  • Explore opportunities for personal growth by developing capabilities in areas of engineering design and project management.

What you will need:



  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, water resource engineering, or related field.
  • Engineer-In-Training certificate required, Professional Engineer license preferred.
  • 7 plus years of experience with environmental, civil or water resources preferred.
  • Direct experience with Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling software packages such as HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HY8 and SITES.
  • Knowledge of how to manage surfaces, cross sections, flow data, computation options, and results mapping.
  • Strong organizational, public relations, verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within collaborative team environments.
