APP Endocrinology
POSITION SUMMARY:
In a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, contributes professional and clinical expertise to assigned patient populations to ensure the delivery of high quality care.
Scope of practice will encompass: o Expert clinical practice o Expert guidance and coaching of patients and families and other healthcare providers o Research o Leadership (clinical, professional, and systems). Serve on call and/or weekend rotation as required.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program as determined by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or holds a current Registered Professional Nurse and Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program/Masters in Nursing. Current Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or for Advanced Practice Nurses a current Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Hold a valid, current New Jersey license. Obtain a New Jersey CDS and federal DEA certificate upon employment if not already covered. BCLS certification, CDE certification a plus
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical practice experience with this population of patients
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving. Participation in pertinent professional and/or specialty organizations preferred.
