POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance activities related to Production and Facilities within the St Joseph site. The individual will be responsible for leading maintenance systems, overseeing the continuous improvement of the manufacturing process and executing long-term strategic plans. This position will lead a team of maintenance personnel and work to improve their skill sets and standard work required to achieve the department goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Administer current programs to assure the health and safety of employees and meet OSHA requirements

2. Uphold Plant & Department Safety Rules

3. Monitor employee behaviors and work practices and address unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and SQF violations

4. Perform safety, behavioral, SQF and housekeeping audits as required.

5. Work on development and continuous improvement of the Preventative and Predictive maintenance plans

6. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing daily shift maintenance activities to provide service levels that meet the needs and standards of our customers

7. Communicate with production management and production control concerning machine overhauls

8. Monitor maintenance activities and address issues appropriately. Advise of employee issues that may require attention.

9. Assist in design, implementation, and administration of department improvement initiatives

10. Coordinate the achievement of standards and provide feedback on shift performance

11. Assist in troubleshooting maintenance, process, and product issues

12. Advise of employee issues that may require their immediate attention to Safety, Quality, Production and Personnel issues

13. Assist in communicating and coordination of training

14. Schedule, train, supervise and motivate employees for the maintenance department

15. Coordinate work performed by outside vendors

16. Ensure efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates

17. Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts

18. Control and monitor inventory

INTERNAL INTERACTION REQUIRED WITH:

1. Production Supervisor and Management

2. Engineering Department

3. Senior Management

EXTERNAL INTERACTION REQUIRED WITH: Corporate Engineering, Vendors, Other Sealed Air Sites

SUPERVISES: Group Maintenance Leader

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

1. Four year degree, preferably in Engineering

2. 5+ years of manufacturing experience.

3. Demonstrated safety commitment.

4. Effective interpersonal and written communication skills

5. Proficient in Process and Instrumentation diagrams, electrical schematics, mechanical layout and design.

6. Positive work history with an ability to manage multiple tasks.

7. Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints, electrical schematics, etc.

8. Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems

9. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively

10. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

11. Computer aptitude, to preferred proficiency in MS Office, to include Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Visio, and Project Management.
