As a Group Exercise/Yoga Instructor at the Salem YMCA, you'll play a crucial role in guiding members toward their fitness goals through a diverse array of classes designed to foster a lively and enjoyable workout atmosphere. At the heart of our mission is inclusivity-we strive to ensure that everyone feels welcome to participate in our wellness programs at our mind & body studio. We're specifically seeking an instructor who is conversational in Spanish to lead classes and further enhance accessibility.

In this role, you'll lead daily classes, providing expert guidance on proper form and technique, offering personalized modifications, and motivating participants to return with engaging and dynamic workouts. We're looking for instructors with a range of skills and certifications to enrich our fitness offerings, including Yoga and Meditation, Strength training, Muscle conditioning, Cardio, Barre, Pilates, Aqua Fitness, and more.

To thrive in this position you have experience as an exercise instructor and lead classes in a way that inspires member retention and engagement. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills and work effectively with a diverse population of people. You have a working knowledge of fitness training and education, exercise principles, and techniques in your area(s) or specialty. This is the ideal position for someone interested in exercise science, fitness training, customer relations, or non-profits.

Qualifications

  • Looking for all formats - yoga, aqua strength, and cardio. Must be able to work with all age ranges.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred - conversational Spanish
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Consistent availability
  • Salary range is based on certifications and experience
