The Plaistow YMCA is currently looking for an experienced High-Level Team Coach to lead youth through quality instruction that fosters in a joy for learning and participating in the sport of gymnastics. Under the direction of the Gymnastics Director, the Gymnastics Coaches are responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all gymnasts.

In this role, you'll be responsible for building strong relationships with members, program participants, and their families while delivering high-quality gymnastics instruction to all class attendees. Creating a safe environment within the gymnastics center is crucial, as is ensuring that the curriculum is both age-appropriate and tailored to meet individual developmental needs. Additionally, you'll be expected to handle any other duties as directed to support the overall success of the organization.

  • Expert in routine construction, requirements, choreography & practice planning
  • 3-5 years experience coaching JO Levels 6-10
  • Excellent knowledge of Optional Code of Points
  • Comfortable spotting high-level skills and drills
  • SafeSport Certified (or completed within 15 days of hire)
  • Core values must align with the Mission of the Y and the goals of the department


ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS



  • Must be physically and mentally capable to maintain the skills of required certifications.
  • Must be able to physically demonstrate skills taught in gymnastics classes.
  • Must be able to see and hear an emergency.
  • Ability to lift equipment and maneuver equipment and weight up to 55 lbs or that of a small to average size child.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to navigate the uneven surfaces on the gym floor.
  • Physically and mentally acts appropriately and immediately to unexpected circumstance.
