Applies advanced technical skills and knowledge and a general knowledge of industry standards and government regulations relative to the installation, maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and related electrical systems in the Company facilities.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem and repair machine.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts. Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, grinders, drills, and milling machines to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
  • Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures. Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings and pipes composed of metals such as iron, steel, brass, and lead and nonmetals such as glass, vitrified clay and plastic.
  • Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes and hot water tanks. Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes and opening clogged drains.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements

Minimum 2 Year / Associate Degree.

Minimum Vocational / Technical.

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.

Experience Requirements

4-7 year(s) Directly related experience.

Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstrates competency in applying the following to perform normal job duties.
  • Valid Journeyman Mechanical License with a natural gas authorization.
  • Possess a valid State of Oklahoma Driver's License.
  • Provides basic hand tools and uses them properly.
  • Able to use safety equipment required by Title 29 CFR 1910, all parts.

Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

Work Environment Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment can vary from loud to a more moderate level.

  • Works under general supervision.
  • Work is reviewed for completion to quality standards and schedule requirements.
  • May adapt techniques and tools to meet special needs with approval from management.
