The Manager, Identity and Access Management will oversee both the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team and the Epic Security team. The Manager will have the unique opportunity to integrate the contributions of both teams while implementing governance, risk and compliance (GRC) and IAM programs. This position is ideal for the candidate with experience in leading change and implementing similar programs in a highly regulated field.

Responsibilities include:

* Responsible for the oversight and leadership of the activities and functions of the IAM and Epic Security departments.



  • Lead and manage the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team to develop and implement identity and access management policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT security team, system administrators, stakeholders and/or external partners and vendors to integrate identity and access management solutions.


* Participates in department strategic planning and contributes to its success through effectively communicating goals and expectations to staff.

* Ensures effective use of system resources.

* Managing the teams work including the oversight of SailPoint development and our internal identity tool while working with Epic and ServiceNow.

* Participates in standards of practice and process improvement activities.

* Oversees staffing matrices and possesses authority to hire, conduct performance evaluations, and discipline employees.



  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment both internally, cross-functional within IT and across the university to enhance security and streamline access management.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies related to identity and access management.
  • Design, develop, and implement connectors and technical components for authentication, authorization, identity provisioning, and role provisioning solutions.


* Ensures policy and procedures are followed by staff.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7 years progressive experience in Information Security or a related Information Technology field (e.g. networking) in large scale/complex environments.
  • Understanding of healthcare operations and relevant State and Federal laws and regulations and security standards and frameworks.
  • Comprehensive understanding of information security administration, security architecture, security tools and technologies, computing environments, operating systems, platforms, internet, networks, telecommunications, process procedures, security education, and risk-based reviews of internal controls/ safeguards and how they are implemented into clinical/ business policy and practices.



Required Certification/Registration:



  • Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC, OSCP, or related security and risk management certifications required.



Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:



  • Master's degree.
  • Experience deploying and managing the operation of basic security tools and technologies: SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP.
  • Working knowledge of NIST 800-53 and CIS CSC Top 20.
  • Experience in implementing GRC and /or IAM solutions across SaaS and on-prem environments.
  • Experience implementing and enhancing Sailpoint integrations.
  • Experience with managing role based EHR access (specifically Epic).
  • Demonstrated experience developing, documenting, and continuously improving workflows and SOPs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams of 5+ personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience managing, maintaining, and reporting on an annual portfolio of 5+ security-related projects.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, quantifying, and documenting security risks in a report format.
