Essential Functions and Primary Duties

The Audit Senior Associate will support our Real Estate and Affordable Housing Group and will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day "in-charge" duties of planning, fieldwork and "wrap-up" which include the preparing of financial statements with disclosures, applying most areas of GAAP as necessary and documenting, validating, testing and assessing various control systems. This position is also responsible for acting as the client contact for basic questions and information and may be involved in reviews and agreed-upon procedure engagements.



  • Complete all aspects of audit engagements for clients including status updates to engagement managers and adhere to all quality control standards as required
  • Demonstrate understanding of the client's business including analysis and planning of client engagements
  • Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks within the time requested, explain variances when needed
  • Achieve charge hour goals
  • Review associates' accounting, tax or auditing work: provide constructive review points
  • May supervise Associate's on engagements
  • Train and mentor associate staff
  • May be involved in the client billing process by assisting Managers or Directors
  • Identify and begin to develop knowledge in selected specialty practice
  • Leverage industry knowledge and business acumen blending cross serve opportunities into client engagements
  • Participate in practice development activities such as: membership in qualified organizations capable of referring potential engagements
  • Execute administrative duties as assigned
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned


Preferred Qualifications



  • 3+ years of public accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA license, preferred
  • Demonstrated technical abilities in select areas (audit, accounting, regulatory, compliance, etc.)
  • Multi-family, Real Estate, or Affordable Housing industry experience preferred
  • Passion for maintaining/building client relationships, managing client expectations, while demonstrating knowledge of client businesses


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3 years of experience in related field
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Presentation skills mandatory
  • Must possess analytical skills
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing within all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
