We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Expert IT Cyber Security within our IT Cyber Security Operations team group based in Houston, Texas.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct cyber security investigations that are triggered from security events and threats such as scans, man in the middle, sniffing, DoS, DDoS, etc attack activities and possible abnormal activities, such as worms, Trojans, viruses, etc.
  • Ability to perform cyber incident triage, containment/mitigation, scoping, hunting, collection, processing, analysis, remediations, and after-action reporting and documentation as part of threat monitoring, detection, and incident response.
  • Ability to analyze logs and other related data from varied systems to identify signs of a breach or security incident.
  • Operate security tooling including but not limited to a Security Information Event Management (SIEM) platform, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Email Security.
  • Work closely with SIEM and EDR SMEs to improve monitoring and detection.
  • Other security-related projects that may be assigned according to skills

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science / related area of study.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethics.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Cyber Security with 1 or more years in the Security Operations discipline.
  • Excellent collaboration and project management skills (Waterfall and/or Scrum).
  • CISSP, GCTI or any other cyber security related certification is highly desirable.
  • Familiar with NIST cybersecurity, ISO/IEC 27035 and MITRE ATT&CK methodologies and frameworks.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment



Desired Qualifications:



  • CISSP, GCTI or any other cyber security related certification is highly desirable
  • Cloud security knowledge and experience is desired
  • Relevant industry experience is desired
