We are currently looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of IT Advisor -Industrial control within the ICS Plant Automation Team based in Midland/Lubbock, Texas.

A successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for:



  • Perform as a member of the IT Gas Plant Automation team following OXY standards and guidelines.
  • Provide automation project leadership and day-to-day automation support for Oxy Permian gas plants across W TX and New Mexico and also support the Direct Air Capture Plant (Stratos).
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with onsite plant managers and operations teams.
  • Understand business priorities, challenges and provide solutions to their problems in the automation area.
  • Develop a good understanding of the IT organization, customer focused support model, and develop strong relationships with relevant IT Teams.
  • Partner with the business to roll out new technologies, applications, and tools that will positively improve the plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely manner ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the cycle of support, providing end-user assistance where required.
  • Log and track all incidents and service requests into company provided tools

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • 15+ years of demonstrated experience in process control and instrumentation supporting gas plants, oilfields, or similar heavy industrial operations.
  • Broad hands on DCS and PLC experience such as Emerson DeltaV, Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 or Honeywell Experion and their related HMI products
  • Must possess strong team leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management experience with demonstrated ability to work independently and to lead other team members.
  • Has good communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work well with people and assess needs. Must be able to communicate professionally with people both inside & outside the organization, which may include business stakeholders, vendors, and business partners.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, follow processes, policies; including environmental & safety, and act as a contributing member of a team environment.
  • Must be able to plan and prioritize daily tasks with excellent organizational skills including accurate records keeping and proper documentation.
  • Valid driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.
  • Must be willing to travel, respond to callouts on nights & weekends, as needed.
