Pediatric Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery
Job Summary The Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery will be working with a cardiothoracic surgical team within the UT Southwestern Division at Children's Health Dallas. This position will include first/second assist for complex pediatric cardiothoracic surgical cases including VAD assist devices, orthotopic heart transplantation; and VA-ECMO, bedside procedures including chest tube, pacer wire removal; wound care monitoring & management; provide pre-and post-operative history and physicals; provide family/patient education including obtaining consent for patients requiring cardiac surgery; High degree of critical thinking and clinical expertise required. Working Conditions Work is performed primarily in a clinical environment. The incumbent may be exposed to body fluids and infectious diseases.
