The UT Southwestern Department of Ophthalmology is in the midst of a major expansion and seeks a Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs to assume a major leadership role in the department at the level of Associate Professor or Professor. We are looking for an energetic, innovative physician leader and team-builder with exceptional integrity, interpersonal skills, and significant experience in clinical operations and healthcare management. The successful candidate will oversee our expanding clinical operations across multiple practice sites in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex, including the main campus, North Dallas, Frisco, and Moncrief Medical Center in Ft. Worth, as well as Children's Health System in Dallas and Plano. In addition, the Vice Chair will work with our education leadership to coordinate faculty activities at our teaching sites, including Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas Veterans Administration Medical Center, and John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth. The position includes 40-50% effort as Vice Chair and the remainder in our Faculty Practice and scholarly activities. Applications are welcome from candidates in comprehensive ophthalmology and all ophthalmologic subspecialties. We seek an individual with an MD degree who is board certified/eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology and who is eligible for Texas medical licensure. Successful completion of an ACGME (or equivalent) accredited residency in ophthalmology is required. An AUPO accredited fellowship is preferred for subspecialty applicants. Salary and appointment rank will be commensurate with academic rank and experience.
