The Dalton Cardiovascular Research Center in the Division of Research, Innovation & Impact at the University of Missouri is seeking postdoctoral fellow applicants to engage in ongoing studies to investigate functional reorganization of descending neocortical motor outputs during recovery from stroke and brain injury in the laboratory of Dr. Jeffery Boychuk. This laboratory provides a highly interactive and dynamic research group that evaluates mechanisms of spontaneous and intervention-based therapeutic approaches to brain repair based on preclinical testing of cells, cell systems and their corresponding organ systems. We use a variety of techniques including electrophysiology (both single cell and network recordings), fluorescent/laser/light microscopy, radio telemetry, molecular biology, behavioral testing and opto/chemogenetics. Qualifications
Applicants should have a PhD and/or MD in neuroscience, physiology or related fields. Applicants who anticipate to defend their thesis in the near future are also encouraged to apply. Candidates will be evaluated on their:
