The primary objective of this position is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the role of selected genes in these interactions and to contribute to the characterization of gene networks and modules. This will involve a combination of experimental work in the laboratory and computational analysis of molecular datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Molecular and Cellular Experiments:

* Design and execute experiments to investigate plant-microbe interactions.

* Perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, gene expression analysis, and protein assays.

* Utilize cellular assays to assess the impact of genetic manipulations on plant-microbe interactions.

* In Silico Computational Analysis:

* Analyze molecular datasets using bioinformatics tools and software.

* Employ computational approaches to elucidate gene networks and modules involved in plant-microbe interactions.

* Collaborate with bioinformatics specialists to integrate experimental data with computational models.

Data Interpretation and Presentation:

* Analyze experimental results and computational findings to draw meaningful conclusions.

* Prepare scientific reports, manuscripts, and presentations for internal meetings and external conferences.

* Contribute to the writing of grant proposals and research papers.

Collaborative Research:

* Work closely with other members of the research team to integrate findings and achieve project objectives.

* Collaborate with external research partners to leverage expertise and resources.

* Mentor graduate and undergraduate students and provide guidance on experimental and computational techniques.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have a PhD in the field of plant genomics, plant molecular biology, plant cellular biology, or plant biochemistry by start of the appointment.

Candidates will be evaluated on the following qualifications:
