The University of Missouri-Columbia invites nominations and applications for the position of Instructor in the Division of Animal Sciences, an academic unit of the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. We are seeking a qualified candidate to assist with the undergraduate teaching mission of the Division of Animal Sciences. This instructor position is a full-time, 9-month appointment with 100% teaching responsibilities. The selected candidate will serve as the primary lab instructor for introductory-level courses, Biology of Animal Production I and II. This person will work with faculty to oversee labs that connect lecture material to applicable concepts through experiential learning. An ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching with beef, dairy, small ruminants, swine, equine, and poultry species. Other responsibilities will include managing undergraduate teaching assistants and coordinating a team to prepare for labs at on-farm locations throughout the semesters. The Division of Animal Sciences undergraduate program focuses on whole-animal biology, applying the latest in genetics, computational biology, physiology, nutrition and meat science to livestock production and animal management to improve both animal health and food production. Our faculty members are noted for teaching and mentoring excellence. Our division includes nearly 500 undergraduate students from all backgrounds and prioritizes experiential learning opportunities throughout the curriculum. Supporting facilities include the beef, dairy, swine, poultry, sheep, and equine farms located minutes from campus. Qualifications
