Job Description:

We are looking for a Network Automation Software Engineer to support the 24x7 Network Operations Center (NOC) in providing Tier 3 network service and superior troubleshooting expertise. The Network Engineer will provide Tier 3 technical support to the NOC and maintain an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), customer networks, Intranet, Internet, and other data communications systems, or a segment of a network system. An ideal candidate must be able and willing to be in an on-call rotation for a week, including the weekends, and depending on the personnel on the roster, it can be every 6 or 7 weeks.

The Network Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:



  • Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
  • Maintain network hardware and software.
  • Proactively identify risks in the network and develop a plan to mitigate them.
  • Supports numerous business requirements for telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice, and Video).


Qualifications:



  • Twelve (12) years of relevant experience - The experience can be a combination of degree and work history. This can be a High School degree and 12 years of work history OR an Associate's and 10 years, a Bachelors' and 8 years, a master's and 6 years or a PhD and 4 years of work history.
  • Possess advanced networking qualifications, including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and LAMBDA. LAN/MAN/WAN/Optical specialization.
  • Experience utilizing common ticket systems (Remedy, ServiceNow) and network management tools (HPOV, HPNA, SolarWinds, MNS, Netcool, etc.).
  • Hands on troubleshooting and fault isolation of IT business systems.
  • A strong understanding of the OSI model and configuration of routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, BGP, LDP.
  • Experience using basic Linux/Unix command line.


Desired Qualifications:



  • Preferred network certifications Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Juniper JNCIA, JNCIS, or JNCIE, ITIL Foundations, and/or CISSP
  • Scripting experience using Python
  • Knowledge of Cisco NSO and automation
  • Familiarity with administration of network equipment such as Cisco/Juniper
  • Experience with platform tools like Riverbed (NNMI, NetIM)
  • Knowledge of Splunk
  • Familiarity with Visio


Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.

Pay Range: Competitive
