POSITION SUMMARY:

The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading all Procurement staff and activities. This position drives value to the organization through developing efficient processes and procedures, identifying and eliminating waste and managing projects cross-functionally that allow for procurement best practices. The Procurement Manager maintains relationship with vendors and negotiates contracts for major purchases taking into consideration cost, quality and production time restraints. This position is also responsible for establishing sourcing strategies, negotiating total cost of contracted materials, products, and services, executing supply agreements, resolving product or service supply issues, and identifying/delivering of cost improvement projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and develop the Procurement department through regular performance dialogue, coaching, and career development.
  • Maintain a high performing team that collaborates well with others and executes projects successfully.
  • Work with Global Supply team to create clearly defined regional strategies for various categories of products. Work cross-functionally to create alignment and leverage. Ensure strategy is deployed to realize benefits.
  • Manage the strategic procurement and strategic sourcing initiatives for the region.
  • Responsible for enhancing global procurement processes and tools.
  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers / vendors to determine product price and delivery schedule - negotiate with suppliers / vendors to create a win-win solution while maximizing the profitability.
  • Assess and qualify vendors, develop alternate sources, and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Manage multiple cost reduction projects and leverage spend across the business.
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel on material status and delivery issues.
  • Coordinate with key partners to achieve inventory accuracy and goals.
  • Manage indirect procurement and purchasing activities.
  • Responsible for company adherence and implementation of purchasing controls and policies.
  • Approve purchase orders as required by purchasing policy.
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • BS degree in Business Management/Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant procurement, sourcing, and / or supply chain experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and leading a team.

Other Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
  • Strong negotiations skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to create value for organizations.
  • Passion for achieving and demonstrating results and cost improvements.
  • Knowledge and experience of strategic sourcing best practices, contracting, and procurement principles, and procedures. Experience in international procurement preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail on short timelines.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems, SAP experience preferred.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Supply Management certification a plus.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Able and willing to work alternative schedules including weekend, and on-call hours as needed.
  • Legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Able to work in a general office environment.
