Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a driven Network Engineer to join our dynamic Network and Unified Communications Architecture team of network and UC engineers in Alexandria, VA. The team provides IT hardware and software to support the goals of the contract, including performance based C4IM services, product support, and O&M for both legacy and newly installed systems. The ideal candidate shall possess either a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification or a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification. Specific hands-on technical experience with Cisco collaboration tools, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)/ Cisco CallManager (CM), and Cisco Meeting Server (CMS) and Meeting Server/ VQ is highly desirable. Peraton has served as the prime contractor for the network contract since its inception in 1984. We provide executive-level government leaders reliable security voice, video, and fax communications anytime, anywhere, in any environment for day-today crisis management. We provide a secure, worldwide, high-performance communications network comprised of real-time interactive applications operating over a dedicated Internet Protocol (IP) backbone with secure services for complex national and worldwide executive-level communications. Peraton provides the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of the network infrastructure and its components. We provide integration for development of hardware and software solutions, and task support for the delivery of system, network, software, and security solutions. In this role, the work is hands-on and you will be support the creation and review of network designs, conduct hardware evaluations in a lab, and with vendors. An excellent candidate will not shy away from writing a test plan or reading through vendor's technical documents to solve a problem and write a resolution report. The Network Engineer is responsible for but not limited to:
Evaluate LAN/WAN performance and capacities to identify problem areas or bottlenecks.
