Responsibilities

    Design and perform structural analysis of new bridge projects, ensuring compliance with design standards and regulations.

  • Use engineering software packages such as Midas Civil, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, L-Pile, LEAP Bridge Steel, Erikson Culverts, and MathCAD for design and analysis tasks.

  • Independently complete engineering calculations for reinforced and prestressed concrete and steel structures. Create and modify structural models as needed.

  • Develop comprehensive project documentation, including bridge plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including CADD technicians, to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients. Present design ideas and solutions clearly and professionally.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) is mandatory.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification is required.
  • 2+ years of engineering experience specifically in designing bridge projects.
  • Proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of structural behavior and mechanics of materials.
  • Ability to independently and accurately complete engineering calculations for reinforced and prestressed concrete and steel structures.
  • Experience in developing bridge plans, coordinating markups with CADD technicians, assembling/writing specifications, and developing quantities and cost estimates.
  • Mid-level proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications, including MS Project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in bridge design on Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) projects is a plus.
  • Load rating experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with engineering software packages such as Midas Civil, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, L-Pile, LEAP Bridge Steel, Erikson Culverts, and MathCAD is a plus.
  • Understanding of seismic design principles and non-linear analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with timber and masonry design is a plus.
