Position: Reliability Manager

Primary Location: Home based United States or Canada (ability to travel 50% US and Canada)

Reports to: Director of Corporate Resources Teams

Compensation: USD $160,000 - $170,000 + Bonus and Benefits (salaried, exempt)

Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific salary range for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process. About this Role and About You

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Resource Teams, the Reliability Manager position will provide a change leadership direction for North American Operations. They will evaluate manufacturing operations with the focus on Reliability and continuous improvement, implementing industry best practices were practicable. Best Practice standards will reflect corporate objectives of, Responsible Care principles, and Reliability Integrity requirements. Provide leadership, counsel and technical assistance to the site managers, plant engineers, operations, maintenance, and hourly plant personnel in the field of Reliability to attain safety, production, quality, cost, and environmental goals. Processes will strive to eliminate or minimize health and safety risks associated with operational and maintenance activities and are committed to provide a safe workplace for all workers.

Qualifications

Technical & Knowledge Requirements

    Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited university.
  • Preferred - Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA PSM to guide and initiate/monitor/audit site safety in a chemical process environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of ASME, ASTM, API and other relevant standards for process equipment.
  • Experience
  • 10+ of experience with mechanical integrity, predictive maintenance, preventive maintenance, and maintenance management in chemical process or similar manufacturing plants.
  • 3+ years direct supervisory experience; Demonstrable success in building and leading teams.
  • Specific experience related to reliability management in the fields of rotating equipment, boilers and burners, industrial refrigeration, corrosion prevention applications, life cycle analysis applications, process control systems.*
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability conduct root cause analysis, life cycle costing
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across multiple levels of an organization
  • Ability to communicate both concisely to management and at greater length to employees in training and coaching sessions.
  • Capable of basic drafting.

Requirement

  • This is a remote role, but the ideal candidate must live near a major international airport and be able to travel 30-50% of the time for business purposes throughout the US and Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through systematic evaluation and improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment availability, performance, and quality 20%
  • Drive efficient root-cause resolution processes to identify and address
  • underlying issues affecting equipment reliability and operational efficiency. 10%
  • Establish and enforce rigorous engineering standards to ensure consistent
  • performance and reliability of mechanical systems and equipment across
  • operations 10%
  • Responsible for overseeing mechanical integrity program. Implements robust
  • inspection, testing, and maintenance protocols aligned with industry
  • standards and regulatory requirements 10%
  • Reviews and updates maintenance practices and procedures, including
  • predictive and preventive maintenance programs, and communicates these
  • requirements clearly to all sites. Supports sites in their efforts to attain "Best
  • Practice" capability in their maintenance functions.. 5 %
  • Support the parallel roll-out activities of the overall EHS organization. 5%
  • Direct and Supervise/Coach Mechanical Engineers. 15%
  • Coaches managers, supervisors, and employees on maintenance Best
  • Practices, promotes cross-site cooperation, and analyzes technical
  • capabilities to optimize spending. Conducts detailed evaluations of site
  • maintenance, identifies opportunities for business impact, and leads
  • productivity improvement through audits and corrective actions 5%
  • Maintains a comprehensive asset plan for equipment replacement and
  • upgrades, ensuring alignment with operational needs, budget constraints,
  • and strategic objectives. 5%
  • Periodically reviews site operations and produces a reliability risk
  • assessment. Utilizes risk management to produce short and long range
  • capital plans. Acts as primary coordinator for capital planning program(s). 5%
  • Supports & resources capital project design, execution, and commissioning
  • to achieve project objectives. Assures respective maintenance departments
  • are ready and capable to maintain new installations. 10%
