Manufacturing Process and Packaging Engineer - Wellston, OH

OVERVIEW

The Wellston plant is the "Heart of Totino's", supporting this growing business within the Snacks Operating Unit. The plant has experienced significant investments over the past several years. The Manufacturing Process and Packaging Engineer (internally called a Systems Engineer) will join a team of talented technical and operations colleagues that will continue to support the growth of the business and plant.

This role will provide system, equipment, product and material expertise to the pizza rolls platform as well as provide leadership in human and food safety and cost savings initiatives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Pizza Rolls Processing System Engineer will be responsible for the following:

• Human and Food Safety
  • Understand and provide expertise for human and food safety systems as they apply to pizza rolls processing systems
• Technical Knowledge and Leadership
  • Apply technical knowledge and leadership to solve problems and drive improvements on processing systems
• Productivity/Cost Savings
  • Identify and implement HMM solutions to drive to Zero Loss. Partner with R&D, Quality, Operations, and Engineering/Maintenance to drive system improvements
• Product and Technology Commercialization
  • Partner with R&D and project teams on tests, trials, and new products
• Data and Performance accuracy of Pizza Rolls Systems
• Future State Strategy
  • Develop strategies for strategic improvements that are aligned with business needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related degree with applicable experience or extensive relevant work experience
• 5 - 7 years related work experience in technical roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, problem-solving, decision making, trouble-shooting, communications, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and build capability in line teams and operators/mechanics.
• Demonstrated ability to work with and influence diverse groups at various levels and across functions.
• Strong ability to involve operators and mechanics in projects and process improvements.
• Must have a good understanding of processing systems along with working knowledge of plant manufacturing, engineering, quality, and research functions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience with project startups and use of VSU tools
