OVERVIEW The Maintenance Supervisor plays an integral role as a front-line leader in a manufacturing environment. This role will provide maintenance leadership to deliver a world-class operation. The Maintenance Supervisor works to drive out top losses on a 24-hour cycle. The position uses continuous improvement tools, leadership skills, and is responsible for fostering a team environment. He/she is responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for building capability in Operating Teams and Equipment Owners to deliver overall line results. This is typically a day shift position, but the applicant must be willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed as well as be on call to support a 24 hour operation. - Own PM systems for the Line and auxiliary equipment, focusing on Maintenance Planning and Scheduling and Breakdown Elimination DMS's
- Support development and lead portions of Line 90-Day loss-elimination plans
- Drive breakthrough results in Planned and Unplanned Downtime, and own:
- M&R costs for line
- % Planned Maintenance
- % PM's complete
- Breakdown reduction - including tracking BD's and assigning/executing BDA's
- Actively participate in Line DDS meetings and execution of daily plan
- Resolve defect handling list for system
- Support capital projects as prioritized by Line Lead
- Track and report maintenance measurement data
- Drive BE and DH items to closure
- Proactively reviews downtime information, investigates possible solutions, and recommends to Management corrective actions that will optimize Up-Time
Planning & Scheduling
- Identify recurring maintenance problems-- recommend and execute solutions. Responsible for the development and maintenance of equipment failure history and life cycle cost
- Manage daily scheduling and effective resource allocation/prioritization including labor, repair parts, and outside services for their line(s)
- Ensure PMs and WOs are executed safely and with appropriate quality
- Perform basic data analysis on Maximo information in order to support problem solving efforts and determine areas of opportunity
- Communicate spending history and future spend prediction by work type and category in order to assist in the budget management process
- Responsible for working with mechanics to lead the development and communication of Planned Maintenance job plans
- Develop preventive, predictive and periodic maintenance programs and continuously improve
- Maintain maintenance technical library including manuals, drawings and electronic documents
- Coordinate and manage contractor work
- For all new capital:
- Update Maximo asset data base (equipment hierarchy)
- Develop equipment bills of material
- Coordinate capital project work utilizing maintenance resources
- Support the development and management of the maintenance budget
- Ensure capitalization of appropriate maintenance work and incorporate in facility forecast. Prepare, obtain approval and manage CWO's for equipment replacement, upgrades and overhauls.
- Coordinate downtime schedule across all departments to ensure all downtime activities are accomplished efficiently.
- Coordinate with production to accomplish planned maintenance during mid-run windows such as changeovers.
- Work with distribution planning to establish an annual site schedule that supports production commitments and corrective/periodic maintenance needs.
- Respond as needed to audits such as sanitation, safety, insurance, etc. and manage follow-up
Employee Development - Coach and develop (Shift Teams) mechanics by serving as a technical coach and resource
- Establish and sustain effective relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems
- Provide daily performance feedback and coaching to team members
- Promote positive employee relations through effective conflict management and issue resolution
- Understand technical manufacturing processes and ensure team is developing technical expertise
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma
- Customer Service Skills: Removing barriers for operators & mechanics
- Strong understanding of industrial, mechanical and electrical technologies
- Understanding of maintenance and reliability performance metrics
- Demonstrated skills in problem solving, coaching and training
- Excellent planning, organization and communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree
- 2+ years of prior experience as a Manufacturing Supervisor (Operations, Maintenance, or Logistics) or related experience
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills
- Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity and change
- Demonstrated understanding of technology and providing solutions to technical challenges
- Sound analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
- Ability to plan, lead, and execute strategic initiatives in a complex environment
- Mature approach to challenging situations and environments
- Experience successfully leading projects or other large improvement plan initiatives is preferred
- Willing to take risks in decision-making and implementation of improvements
- Desire and ability to lead change in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, electronic, listening and feedback communications

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $68700.00 - $103200.00 / Annually.
