The Stanley Consultants Water Resources Market team is a group of geotechnical, structural, civil, and water resources engineers that delivers heavy civil engineering projects focused on dams, locks, flood risk reduction, river restoration, water control structures, hydropower, and earth retaining structures for clients nationally and globally. We are seeking motivated candidates that enjoy working in a team environment on challenging projects to join our group in either or Minneapolis or West Palm Beach office.

What You Will Be Doing:



  • Technical analysis, design, preparation of construction documents, reports, and cost estimates for structural, infrastructure, environmental, water resources, and energy projects
  • Focus on structural engineering analysis and design for a wide range of concrete, steel, and other structural elements for engineering planning, analysis, and design projects
  • Lead structural design team on projects for a wide range of structural and general civil engineering projects and advancing technical and/or managerial career development responsibilities


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • At least 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Applied knowledge of structural engineering theory and principles.
  • Experience with design of earth and water retaining structures and hydraulic structures.
  • Familiarity with drawings, specifications, and basic structural engineering software such as STAAD and MathCAD.
  • Strong oral communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and lead a team of engineers.
  • Ability to manage structural design projects.
  • Self-motivated subject matter expert; demonstrated through experience, participating in local professional organizations, preparing, and presenting market specific papers and presentations
  • Must be available for field work and travel.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis).
  • Master of Science degree in structural or geotechnical engineering.
  • Microstation experience.
  • Familiarity with federal and state government guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience with USACE structural design standards, construction observation, geotechnical, and soils engineering skills.
  • Experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and other U.S. Federal agencies' engineering department general design standards and specifications.



Stanley's Approach to Flexibility

While some members choose to work out of their local office on a full-time basis, we offer a hybrid schedule for eligible positions consisting of two days a week in the office, two days a week remotely, and Friday being a flexible day that can be worked either in the office or at home. Eligible roles can also offer a compressed workweek schedule. Members who participate will be assigned a 9/80 work schedule, meaning every other Friday off!
