We are currently seeking a talented individual to work as a transportation drainage and water resources lead engineer for design in our Denver (Centennial), Colorado office. The ideal candidate is energetic, enthusiastic, and has a can-do attitude. This position also offers opportunities to participate in professional organizations.

What You Will Be Doing:



  • Manage and participate in the preparation of engineering plans and specifications for the design of stormwater management facilities including storm sewer systems, detention facilities, flood control facilities, channel restoration/rehabilitation, bridge hydraulics, culverts, and other hydraulic structures and facilities
  • Manage the preparation of transportation related hydrology and hydraulics studies, including Master Drainage Studies, Drainage Reports, and Bridge Hydraulics Reports
  • Lead the preparation of drainage design calculations and modeling to support design recommendations
  • Direct field studies, surveys, and data collection necessary to develop drainage concepts and construction documents
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, scope of services, and contract cost estimates
  • Submit documents to federal, state, and local agencies for code compliance review and obtains permits required


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • At least 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with hydraulics and hydrology modeling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Hydraulic Toolbox, HY-8, Culvert Master, SMS/SRH2D.
  • Proficiency with Microstation, InRoads Storm and Sanitary/OpenRoads.
  • Prior experience working on projects with Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
  • Experience with the CLOMR/LOMR process.
  • Experience with local municipal design methods, plan preparation, standards and specifications.
  • Experienced in and fully capable of using the Microsoft software suite including Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point.
  • Self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of project team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master of Science (MS) in Civil Engineering.
  • CFM certification.



Base Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000

The starting salary for the successful candidate in this position is competitive and will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications and experience, geographic location, internal equity, company policy and practices.

While some members choose to work out of their local office on a full-time basis, we offer a hybrid schedule for eligible positions consisting of two days a week in the office, two days a week remotely, and Friday being a flexible day that can be worked either in the office or at home. Eligible roles can also offer a compressed workweek schedule. Members who participate will be assigned a 9/80 work schedule, meaning every other Friday off!
