Sigma Defense is seeking a senior Functional Lead to support the Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) Program at Tactical Training Group, Atlantic (TTGL) in Virginia Beach, VA as the FST Program Lead Support. The individual in this role will provide oversight and management of contractor personnel supporting FST exercises/events. He or she will oversee planning and support of live and synthetic exercises including, but not limited to, FST-J, FST-GC, FST-T (ASW), SLAMEX/TLAMEX.

The ideal candidate should have expertise on naval synthetic modeling/simulations (JSAF, MTWS, etc) and should have at least 5 years' experience at the senior trainer/evaluator level on a Strike Group (SG) or Numbered Fleet Commander (NFC) staff (or equivalent DoD staff involving mission planning and execution). Additionally, having at least 2 years of experience as a JSAF operator is desired but not required.

This is a contingent position that is pending award of contract. This means that the position is subject to the successful awarding of a contract and will be confirmed once the contract is finalized. The candidate selected for this role will be offered the position on the condition that the contract is awarded to our organization.

Requirements
  • 5 years of relevant experience at the senior trainer/evaluator level on a SG or NFC staff or equivalent DoD staff involving mission planning and execution.
  • 2 years of experience as a JSAF operator is desired but not required.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess an active, DoD issued Top Secret security clearance or higher. A TS/SCI clearance level is required for this position.
  • A clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

Support Tasks:

(a) Provide oversight and management of contractor personnel supporting FST exercises/events to ensure all tasks and assignments are accurately completed.

(b) Assist government lead with synthetic training planning and execution to ensure training objectives are accomplished.

(c) Lead, advise, and provide subject matter expertise on naval synthetic modeling and simulations (JSAF, MTWS, etc.).

(d) Provide lead expertise and support on C5I systems (GCCS-M/J, MDS, air defense systems integrator (ADSI), theater battle management core system (TBMCS), and joint automated deep operations coordination system (JADOCS), etc.).

(e) Oversee planning and support live (COMPTUEX, TFEX, LSE, CTF-65/50 CERTEX, Surface Warfare Advanced Team Training [SWATT], Fleet Battle Experiments, Group Sail,) and synthetic exercises including, but not limited to, FST-J, FST-GC, FST-T (ASW), SLAMEX/TLAMEX, Tactical Flag Communications Center (TFCC) trainers, , Navy USW Training Assessment Course (NUWTAC) and Naval Integrated Fire Control - Counter Air (NIFC-CA).

(f) Ensure proper coordination, where appropriate, between commands (TTGL/TTGP, EWTGL/ Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific (EWTGP), NSWC-Corona, etc.) to facilitate synthetic training.

(g) Oversee the development of synthetic scenarios in accordance with current naval, joint, and coalition doctrine, TTPs and forward deployed Fleet requirements.

(h) Ensure proper development and testing of synthetic scenarios.

(i) Assist government representatives in debrief of FST exercises in accordance with appropriate MOE using USFF established NMETLs.

(j) Provide recommendations for and development of synthetic augmentation (entities, scenario elements, simulator operators, etc.) to live training exercises.

(k) Provide government lead with appropriate lessons learned from synthetic training exercises and ensure relevant changes are incorporated in future exercises.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $120,000 annually.
