Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding One Outpatient Psychiatrist (SUD) to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham-Cumberland. The Center of Excellence is/are part of the Gotham Health Clinics (NYC H+H). Gotham Health/Cumberland is a multidisciplinary ambulatory care center located in the vibrant, verdant and diverse neighborhood of Fort Greene, Brooklyn which offers quick and easy access to Manhattan and some of the most popular areas in Brooklyn. Cumberland provides an array of primary care and subspecialty services including Internal Medicine/Adult Primary Care, Pediatrics/Adolescent Health, Women's Health, General Dentistry, Behavioral Health/Psychiatry, Substance Use/Chemical Dependency services, Optometry, Dermatology and Radiology services.

    Responsible for the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of adult patients including ongoing medication management, psychotherapy, formulation of treatment plans, and all necessary documentation
  • Conducts history and physical examination to include mental health examinations, intake assessments, substance use disorders assessments and suicide risk evaluations
  • Provides treatment for patients with co-occurring SUD and general mental health disorders in an outpatient setting
  • Has or is willing to develop experience in the full range of medication assisted treatment (MAT) options, including treatment for Opioid use disorders and use of buprenorphine in its various forms for substance use disorder
  • Performs psychiatric consultation and engages in collaborative care, as needed, for patients referred by Cumberland physicians in Adult Primary Care, Family medicine, Women's Health or the specialty services
  • Functions as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes psychologists, social workers, and referring partners
  • Provides clinical guidance to other members of the healthcare team as needed
  • Reviews and approves care plans written by team social workers
  • Provides crisis intervention when needed
  • Participates in performance improvement and quality management projects as assigned
  • Maintains timely and complete clinical records in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Follows Article 31 and Article 32 regulations and current standards of clinical practice


Qualifications

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry; with experience in Substance Use Disorder management or Addiction Psychiatry
  • MD or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine
  • Completed residency training in an accredited program within Psychiatry
  • License to practice medicine in the State of New York
  • DEA license

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $236,900* (board eligible); $247,200* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $364,590** (board eligible) and $375,920** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.
