Overview

Will consider candidates near other TRC offices (https://www.trccompanies.com/offices/)

TRC is an engineering and environmental consultancy that delivers advanced energy, decarbonization, and resiliency solutions across the United States. TRC's Research and Consulting (R&C) team (within the Advanced Energy practice) is focused on developing and deploying decarbonization and energy efficiency solutions for our clients - utilities, non-profits, local governments, and state and federal agencies. We consult on policy research, technology research, building code development, program management, market assessments, and engineering analysis.

The R&C team is seeking a qualified individual to join our team of experienced building simulation analysts and researchers developing energy codes, decarbonization policy, and emerging technology market adoption. No project is the same, and you'll get exposure to lots of different types of work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. Projects will include analysis of energy efficiency, grid responsive buildings, decarbonization, distributed energy resources, human factors, and control systems. You will ideate and implement research and simulation plans and foster an environment that encourages career development for building simulation staff.

Candidates must possess advanced building simulation technical capabilities and knowledge of building science and building systems. An ideal candidate would be a building scientist or engineer with a minimum of six to nine (6-9) years of experience in building simulation analysis (experience can include graduate research using building simulation). The ideal candidate will be assertive, personable, and a self-starter, with the capacity to support multiple tasks across multiple teams.

Location - CA, preferred.
