Summary: The Field Service Technician is responsible for the implementation, setup, troubleshooting and commissioning of new automation equipment at customer sites.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Associate's degree in Automation Technology, Electromechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, Electronics, or Information Technology.
  • 3+ years of experience implementing automation solutions with customers.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation controllers and operator interface.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel throughout assigned territory (some overnight travel required).


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electromechanical, Engineering Technology, Electronics, or Information Technology.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation drives, motion control, networking, safety, and robotics.
  • Experience delivering automation training.


Duties & Responsibilities



  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to automation systems.
  • Investigate equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Implement hardware and/or software at customer sites.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.
  • Collaborate with customers during the commissioning process to ensure successful implementation.
  • Perform customer services on controllers, operator interface, software installation, program transfer, and firmware flashing.
  • Consult with Product Management team on project specification requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of service visits and equipment status.
  • Deliver technical training to internal and external customers.
  • Respond to customer technical questions related to issues the customer is having on industrial controls and provide solutions and assist in implementation of solutions.
  • Log and maintain customer interactions in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and applications.
