Overview:
HKS Dallas is seeking a Security Engineer to join our team.
Strong background in information security, hands-on experience with various security tools, and proficiency in managing cloud environments. This role requires a proactive individual who can collaborate cross-functionally, design effective security controls, and stay abreast of industry trends to ensure our organization remains secure and compliant.
Responsibilities:
- Manages security tools such as Okta, Cloudflare, Mimecast, CrowdStrike, Defender, Sentinel SIEM, and Palo Alto firewalls
- Interfaces effectively with systems engineering teams to address and mitigate security risks through appropriate solutions and controls
- Designs and implements methods for assessing compliance with security standards, procedures, and guidelines
- Identifies and executes opportunities to automate security controls
- Designs and builds controls to address identified security risks and events
- Defines clear, concise, and executable SOPs and documentation for any implemented solutions to ensure formal operational handoff
- Provides support during security incident responses and writes comprehensive security incident reports
- Responds, analyzes, remediates, and documents actions performed to resolve threat conditions
- Proactively searches for indicators of compromise and escalate finding to leadership
- Provides 24/7/365 support upon request by management on an as-needed basis
- Performs other duties assigned by leadership
- Embraces a culture of continuous service improvement and service excellence
- Stays current on security industry trends
Qualifications:
- B.A./B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3-5+ years in the Information Security field
- Advanced Information Security Certification (CISSP, CISM) preferred
- Experience with Intune, Tenable, Mimecast, Okta, next-generation EDR tools, and SIEM
- Proficiency with Microsoft Azure and AWS
- Experience managing Office 365 and Azure environments
- Experience with Palo Alto firewall management
- Experience with Windows system administration
- Well-rounded background in network, host, database, and application security
- Experience implementing security controls in IT environments
- Experience driving a culture of security awareness
- Experience administering endpoint devices or web application servers
- Experience with logging and alerting platforms, including SIEM integration
- Current understanding of industry trends and emerging threats
- Knowledge of incident response methodologies and technologies
- Strong customer service, interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff
- Strong work ethic and eagerness to produce high quality, accurate results
- Ability to proactively problem solve and apply innovative solutions
- Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment, and ability to work independently and prioritize work
- Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality
- Travel may be required
