Overview

TRC is seeking a Senior Remediation Engineer to support our remediation engineering practice in New Providence, New Jersey.

The position requires a strong technical background in environmental and remediation engineering design, construction and operation, and a solid reputation of building and maintaining key client relationships.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform remediation system design and implementation work with a focus on in-situ remediation technologies such as Enhanced In-Situ Bioremediation, In-Situ Chemical Oxidation, In-Situ Chemical Reduction, Recirculation, SVE/AS, In-Well Air Stripping, etc.
  • Develop and track multiple project budgets, scopes and schedules for regulatory submittals and other consulting documents.
  • Interpret geological, hydrogeological, and chemical data from contaminated sites to evaluate and design/optimize soil and groundwater remediation systems, including developing strategy, rationale and cost estimates.
  • Work well with dynamic project teams.
  • Perform Quality Analysis/Quality Control of deliverables related to projects and tasks managed, as well as projects and tasks managed by others, and are responsible for implementation of the firms' quality procedures at project and task levels.
  • Assist in training and mentoring of junior engineers to facilitate growth.
  • Write and review technical documents, reports and engineering designs, ensuring quality and consistent delivery of materials.
  • Interface well with and develop a rapport and positive relationship with our clients and employees.
  • Contribute to a learned community: pursue educational & professional opportunities; train and teach staff, peers and supervisors; share new technologies, techniques, and resources.
  • Have positive health and safety behaviors.
  • Maintain a billable utilization target.
  • Work to cross-sell TRC services and increase business.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, and deliver responsive, high quality services.
  • Have strong communications skills, both written and oral.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or PE eligible in New Jersey.
  • 8-25 years' experience within the remediation engineering field.
  • Remediation system design, construction oversight, operation and maintenance experience.
  • Project management experience in budgeting, scheduling, procurement, coordination of teams of contractors, and client interactions.
  • Technical project expertise in environmental investigations, remediation, and environmental compliance.
  • Knowledge of New Jersey environmental site remediation regulations and technical guidance.
  • Experience writing and reviewing technical documents, reports and engineering designs, ensuring quality and consistent delivery of materials
  • In-field experience performing remediation work at industrial Sites.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, including current annual refresher

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the basic qualifications the qualifications below are highly desired but not required:

  • M.S., M.Eng., or PhD. Degree in environmental, civil, bioenvironmental, or chemical engineering.
  • Professional registration in engineering in other US States.
  • Experience managing and developing junior engineers or project teams.
  • Design experience with landfills, landfill gas management, sub-slab depressurization systems, pump and treat systems, liquid and air treatment, discharge permitting, injection permitting, green/sustainable remediation, sustainable/resilient infrastructure, and/or life cycle assessments.
  • Experience with New York State and Federal environmental regulations.
  • Proficient in one or more of the following: AutoCAD, Civil3D, GIS, 3-Visualization software, and/or modeling software.
  • Experience with large-scale database structures, procedures and management.

Compensation: Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range
