We are seeking a Senior Technology Manager to lead our diverse software development initiatives, focusing on both custom and packaged software solutions. This pivotal role involves managing dynamic teams tasked with developing applications that utilize Java and Oracle with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, as well as AWS technologies for web-based applications. The Senior Technology Manager will oversee the entire development process from conceptual design through development and ongoing support, ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing both cloud-based and on-premises applications, and a solid track record in financial management including budgeting and forecasting. Candidates with professional certifications in project management, Agile methodologies, and AWS technologies, will be given preference.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities (Duties):

  • Spearhead the full lifecycle of software development and maintenance, from initial concept to delivery and ongoing support, managing both custom software products and off-the-shelf software solutions.
  • Strategically guide the development and integration of software solutions, ensuring timely delivery within budget and meeting quality standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage diverse software development and architecture teams, fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Work closely with product management to understand market demands and translate these into actionable, strategic software solutions.
  • Partner with operations management to ensure effective product support and maintenance, with a focus on customer satisfaction and product integrity.
  • Promote and refine Agile methodologies across teams to enhance development efficiency and ensure reliable product releases.
  • Direct the technical strategy, including technology stack selection, architectural design, and establishing best development practices.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and improvement, keeping ahead of industry trends and integrating new technologies and methodologies as appropriate.
  • Maintain clear communication across development teams and departments, ensuring strategic alignment with broader company goals and priorities.
  • Display adaptability by taking on additional responsibilities as needed, proactively responding to changing business and management demands.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are those an applicant must possess to be considered a candidate for the position.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in software development, with extensive experience in developing custom software products from scratch and integrating/customizing off-the-shelf packaged software solutions. At least 5 years in a leadership role managing diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working with one or more of the following technologies: Python, React, Java, Javascript, Spring Boot, MongoDB, AWS stack, and API
  • Experienced in creating and managing team budgets and financial forecasting.
  • Proficient in managing both direct and matrixed development teams.
  • Strong experience with cloud-based and on-premises applications is required.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
  • Expert knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with a proven ability to implement these practices effectively.
  • Exceptional collaborative and communication skills, adept at working alongside product management and operations to transform business requirements into high-quality software solutions.
  • Outstanding leadership and team-building capabilities, skilled at motivating and guiding teams through complex software development cycles.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with the capacity to make data-driven decisions and address challenges efficiently.
  • High degree of adaptability, capable of shifting focus to meet evolving business and management needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of maintaining a high energy level to handle a dynamic, fast-paced workload
  • Excellent organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications are not required for an applicant to be considered a candidate for the position.

    • Preference with any combination of technologies using Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and SQL Server
    • Preferred certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or similar Agile certifications, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, and other relevant AWS certifications.
    • Experience in managing a combination of onshore and near-shore or off-shore teams

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
