Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated ACI Inspector to join our growing Construction Management Services team in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience in site design, roadway, stormwater management, grading, drainage, and utility design. This position has the unique ability to partner with and learn from some of the best engineers, project managers, and other technical staff in the industry. Our Civil engineers are part of a site development team where they will design improvements including site layout, utilities, grading - drainage, erosion control, and stormwater management for a wide range of private and public clients throughout NC and the US.

SKILLS - QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of mathematics in both algebra and geometry.
  • Proficient in the use of iPad, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Dropbox and/or OneDrive.
  • Ability to work independently, use own judgment and make decisions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of roadway, structure and bridge construction methods, materials, standards, construction symbols and terminology.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal environmental, safety, EEO guidelines and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret roadway, bridge and structure plans and contract specifications.
  • Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 8 hours a day on occasion.
  • Must have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and twist, use hands to grasp and arms to reach, to raise hands above head, to sit, climb and balance and to work in confined spaces and heights with adequate vision to perform tasks.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up-to 50 pounds, on occasion.
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

CERTIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position you need to have all or some of the certifications listed below.

  • Concrete or Earthwork Construction experience and/or an associate's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
  • ACI Grade 1 Field Technician is desirable.
  • VDOT or NICET Level II Soil and Aggregate Compaction is a plus but will train the right candidate.

Compensation: Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
