Location: Parker Meggitt Engineered Materials Group-CFC-San Diego (Mira Mesa)

The successful Manufacturing Technician 2 will perform molding, bonding and assembly operations in support of production contracts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble, demold, and bond components and parts. Prepare parts and perform bonding and finishing by filling, sanding, grinding, and cleaning. Fit components by cutting, deburring, trimming and hand working materials.
  • Use hand and power tools, measurement devices and equipment to perform production operations.
  • Understand and adhere to all policies and procedures, including the Quality Management System.
  • Understand and adhere to all environmental health and safety guidelines including all safety policies and posted signs. Always work in a safe manner - consistent with MEGGITT policies and procedures. Always correct an unsafe situation or report it to the Lead, or Manufacturing Operations Manager if an unsafe situation is found. Always wear the required personal protective equipment.
  • Follow all written instructions, work instructions, travelers and procedures when producing hardware.
  • Always fill out production records, travelers and logs as work is completed. Log and record material traceability information on travelers. Stamp and date operations complete on travelers when they are complete and the work performed satisfies all documented quality requirements. Do not stamp operations as complete until the operation has been completed.
  • Ensure that ALL material used in deliverable products is within its shelf-life and allowable out-time.
  • Immediately report discrepancies, quality problems and non-conformances to the Lead, Value Stream Manager or Manufacturing Operations Manager. Record non-conformances in the applicable project NCR Log. Work with the Lead, Value Stream Manager, or project Engineer to identify root cause and corrective actions required to prevent discrepancies.
  • Maintain and care for tools, molds, machines and equipment. Use tools for their intended purposes.
  • Maintain the order and cleanliness of production work areas, ensuring that all tools, materials and supplies are returned to their designated locations throughout the day and again in the last 5 to 15 minutes of the shift.
  • Facilitate the flow of production parts to and from other manufacturing operations and locations. Deliver parts and materials to the next operation.
  • Participate in and contribute to process improvement, lean manufacturing and other initiatives. Recommend process improvements to the Lead, Value Stream Manager, Manufacturing Operations Manager or Manager of Continuous Improvement.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Years Experience: 1-3 years of working in manufacturing, assembly, or composite fabrication.

Skills:

  • Must be able to lift, hold and carry up to 40 pounds unaided. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job.
  • Must be able to use tools to do production operations correctly and safely.
  • Must work efficiently and productively at assigned work.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Organized and self-motivated.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple duties, set priorities and follow tasks through completion.
  • Capable of working in a high change environment.
  • Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensations is based on variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, and location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $17.45/hour-$26.20/hour
