The Material Handler oversees, coordinates, and evaluates the production activities within the production plant or assigned cells. At Parker, you will cultivate a strong culture by participating in High Performance Teams and operating in a LEAN structure.

  • Manage the movement of materials from the receiving dock to appropriate storage location and deliver materials to production areas.
  • Review expense item stocking level and reorder, when necessary, work closely with production scheduling to ensure parts are run in accordance with plan.
  • Maintain purchased Kanbans including weekly audits and monthly resets based on input from planners.
  • Maintain accurate inventory on raw materials and work in process. i.e., perform cycle counts on a regular basis and investigate any inventory variances to keep quantities accurate to keep shipments on time. Report inventory discrepancies to Material Manager or Planner Buyer.
  • Proactively maintain tooling databases and ensure FOD checks are completed as scheduled.
  • Perform ERP system transactions as required.
  • Perform regular audits of Complete all internal departmental documentation and audits accurately and on time such as shelf-life goods/ materials and report as directed.
  • Communicate between internal departments in a professional manner and proactively solve problem issues, notify proper parties in leadership/ engineering.
  • Work cross functionally to support company LEAN and High-Performance team objectives and initiatives by participating in Starpoint teams and other company culture objectives.
  • Provide backup leadership support to team Shippers/Receivers, assist in training others, and complete other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance of all Company policies, safety, 5s and training procedures and wear assigned PPE for designated areas.

* U.S. Citizenship or have U.S. Permanent Resident Status required.
* GED or High School Diploma required.
* 3+ years of shipping/ receiving, material handling, or manufacturing experience or demonstrated competency required.
* Forklift training is required within 6 months of start date. * Must be certified in DOT and IATA training or willing to complete training within 6 months of hire date for Woburn location.
* Ability to work independently and within a team to meet sensitive deadlines required.
* Ability to perform advanced math such as multiplication and division in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions and decimals required.
* Ability to read, write, and interpret documents effectively in English required.
* Ability to stand for 8 hours and lift and or move up to 40lbs required.
