S4 Inc. is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join the forefront of national defense technology at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Electromagnetic (EM) Effects Division. We're seeking talented individuals to support critical projects ensuring the operational capability of military forces and platforms. As part of our team, you'll provide technical and engineering support, risk analysis, and integrated logistics for a range of initiatives, from legacy systems to emerging technologies.
Responsibilities:
Research, prepare, write, and edit technical documents for publication, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with technical documentation guidelines and standards.
Gather, analyze, and compose technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.
Handle classified documents, including marking, handling, and tracking in accordance with security protocols.
Utilize experience with U.S. Navy/Joint programs standards, specifications, and test practices to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
Compose technical documents including user's manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports in accordance with established guidelines and standards.
Edit documents to ensure grammatical correctness and consistency, and conduct research to ensure the use of proper technical terminology.
Gather, analyze, and compose meeting minutes and action items to accurately capture discussions and decisions
Qualifications:
Five (5) years of experience in the research, preparation, writing, and/or editing of technical documents for publication.
Experience in gathering, analyzing, and composing technical information for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in handling classified documents, including marking, handling, and tracking.
Experience with U.S. Navy/Joint programs standards, specifications, and test practices.
Ability to compose various technical documents including user's manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.
Familiarity with technical documentation guidelines and standards.
Strong editing skills with the ability to ensure grammatical correctness and consistency.
Proficiency in conducting research to ensure the use of proper technical terminology.
Experience in gathering, analyzing, and composing meeting minutes and action items.
Must possess a Secret clearance.
