Manufacturing Engineer Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering position at Parker Hannifin is responsible for evaluating existing manufacturing processes and improving the system to reduce cost, decrease ergonomic scores and develop manufacturing equipment through engineering technologies. The Manufacturing Engineer will use their expertise on a variety of complex manufacturing issues to increase capabilities to produce products. This role will support multiple product assembly lines, develop processes, troubleshoot, design equipment and make continuous improvements to production operations. You will work with highly technical, cross functional teams to provide solutions for manufacturing on existing and new product introductions.

Essential Functions:
* Design, purchase, build, and maintain production equipment
* Develop new equipment and fixtures to enhance manufacturing process (jigs, fixtures, custom tooling, semi-automated and automated systems)
* Manage continuous improvement projects throughout the facility involving processes, products or equipment enhancements
* Lead problem solving efforts to determine root cause and corrective action to manufacturing and production issues
* Submit Engineering Change Requests for documentation updates or creation per ISO standards
* Work closely with the Quality department to support deviations
* Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for operators and maintenance personnel on the proper use, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing systems
* Participate in Kaizen events for continuous improvement
* Maintain consistent process controls through the use of PFMEA, SPC, and Standard Work
* Provide technical support and direction to production personnel
* Identify & Implement Lean initiatives and transformations directed by business operations
* Support ergonomic evaluations and improvements
* Work on cross-functional teams to support new product launches, and existing product changes
* Manage budgets associated with assigned projects
* Collaborate with suppliers, vendors and customers when needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of Working Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Proficient in Root Cause Analysis
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools
  • Hands-on capabilities to manage projects without direct supervision
  • CAD Software (Inventor preferred)

    Technical Depth Skills:
  • Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Fundamental knowledge of mechanical principles
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience Developing Technical Fixtures and Assembly Equipment
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

    Desired skills, not required:
  • Minitab Analysis
  • Six Sigma
  • Database management
