Job Description

We are currently seeking an Expeditor/Assembler located on-site in Chatsworth, CA and can be hired as Temp to Hire or FTE.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Manufacturing Expeditor to join our team. The Manufacturing Expeditor plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations by expediting the flow of materials between various departments within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of production processes, exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

    Coordinate with production planners, procurement team, and warehouse staff to prioritize and expedite the flow of materials and components needed for production.
  • Monitor inventory levels and production schedules to identify potential bottlenecks or delays.
  • Expedite urgent orders or critical materials to meet production deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, production schedules, and material movements.
  • Collaborate with production managers and supervisors to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and team building activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards at all times.
  • Proficient in use of basic hand tools and machines including but not limited to (non/ powered) screw drivers
  • Assemble, modify, and rework production components / sub-assemblies utilizing process documentation (drawings) and Bill of Materials.
  • Maintains productive working relationships with all team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a role involving material coordination or expediting.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with ERP systems and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in supply chain management or a related field are a plus. Minimum ONE (1) year assembly and expediting experience necessary; Two (2) years' experience preferred.

Pay rate: $21.60/ hr
