DESCRIPTION:

Day & Zimmermann (D&Z) is currently seeking candidates who are interested in a Quality Control Lead position in support of D&Z's on-line and outage maintenance / modification and project-related contract activities for a fleet of coal and gas power plant sites in KY. This position will reside at one of the sites in KY (preferably at Mill Creek in Louisville, KY), with travel to other sites in KY as required.

This role will require an AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification and previous experience in managing QC Inspector activities and documentation required to support fossil power plant boiler code and piping work, proficiency with computers (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), and proficiency with NBIC, ASME Section I, II, V, IX and ASME B31.1 and B31.3. Candidate should be knowledgeable in the application and troubleshooting of common welding processes such as GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW. Please note that you must be able to provide proof of qualifications/certifications.



SKILLSETS / QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High School or Equivalent
  • Active AWS CWI and/or ASNT VT NDE Level II, Minimum
  • 5 years of boiler maintenance equivalent experience
  • 2+ years' experience overseeing QC Inspector personnel and work documentation
  • Excellent teamwork, critical thinking, analytical, judgment and interpersonal skill
  • Strong customer service orientation (responsive, consultative, collaborative and accurate)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building skills - able to work with a variety of people and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
  • Ability to successfully complete any training and/or background and drug screening that may be required by the sites
  • Ability to travel

  • Ability to read and write complex documents in the English language
  • Capacity to reason and make sound decisions
  • Ability to wear a mask, respirator, bullet proof vest, or other equipment
  • Ability to regularly perform all job functions at Company's office or work site
  • Ability to withstand environmental conditions (e.g., extreme heat or cold, wind,fumes, odors, gases, etc.)


In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $87,000 - $114,400. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and other factors.
