Position Summary |
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill , Department of Neurology, is seeking a BE/BC neurologist with clinical and/or research interests in Child Neurocritical Care Neurology. Neurocritical Care fellowship training is desired by not required. This position will offer a primary academic appointment at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
UNC-Chapel Hill has a large primary pediatric residency with over twenty fellowship programs including a Child Neurology Residency and a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship. The
UNC Pediatric Neurocritical Care Unit within the Division of Child Neurology is expanding with leadership opportunities to start and lead a pediatric neurocritical care physician and nurse practitioner training/fellowship program. The position will include child neurology hospitalist duties, and neurocritical care follow-up outpatient time. The department has protected research time and production from this time is expected. We provide opportunities for faculty career development including support for academics and research. We have a comprehensive epilepsy level IV section with multidisciplinary treatment approaches including epilepsy surgery,
VNS and ketogenic diet. Our program boasts several internationally acclaimed programs such as the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities,
TEACCH Autism Program, North Carolina Neuroscience Center,
UNC Center for
AIDS research,
UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, among others. We also have a robust neurofibromatosis program, pediatric sleep medicine program and a growing
SMA program, as well as a highly successful pediatric epilepsy program. We have a number of sub- specialty clinics and research collaborations with our Pediatric Medicine and Child Psychiatry Centers. We are developing additional new programs, e.g., neonatal neurology, pediatric stroke, and neurocritical care with strong institutional support.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Candidates must have an M.D., D.O., or equivalent. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
BE/BC neurologists with clinical and/or research interests in Child Neurology. Neurocritical Care fellowship training preferred. |
