Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The mission of the School of Social Work is to advance equity, transform systems, improve lives. The School's curriculum supports the mission and recognizes the uniqueness of the region served, including concerns for disadvantaged, vulnerable, and oppressed individuals, families and communities. Classes provide rigorous and evidence-based content, and give students the opportunity to explore theory, learn intervention skills and engage in challenging dialogue with colleagues.
Position Summary
The School of Social Work hires part-time adjunct faculty (Practice) during the academic year and/or summer sessions to teach one or more courses in the MSW or PhD programs. Curriculum, programs and content areas determine teaching needs.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master's degree in social work is required. Two-years of professional social work experience in direct practice, community practice, management, and/or policy practice is required.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
A doctoral degree or the completion of some doctoral coursework in social work or a related field is preferred.
A professional social work license and/or other relevant credentials are preferred.
Teaching experience in social work graduate education is preferred.
Teaching experience in social work practice courses is preferred.
