Position Summary |
The
UNC Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time (clinical fixed term) faculty member who will be involved with clinical activities of the Substance Treatment and Recovery (
STAR) program. Clinical responsibilities will include providing diagnostic evaluations, individual therapy, and group therapy in the outpatient and inpatient setting to patients of all ages (adolescents and adults) and contributing to overall program development across levels of care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary treatment team. Other clinical opportunities include supervising clinical practicum students, pre-doctoral interns, post-doctoral fellows, and psychiatry residents. Additional responsibilities include teaching medical students, residents, and other allied health professionals, conducting professional training seminars, conducting program evaluation, participating in outreach activities, providing community presentations, and presenting at national and international conferences. Salary will be commensurate with rank and experience. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Completion of an
APA-accredited PhD/PsyD in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or related doctoral program, and completion of an
APA-accredited internship. Candidates must be licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in the state of North Carolina. Candidates must demonstrate strong evidence of interest and previous clinical training in substance use disorders. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Applicants who have experience in substance use disorders and training in evidence-based interventions are strongly preferred. Prior experience in academic medical settings and/or in a high-performing clinical team is preferred, but not required. Preferred candidates will have training and experience with multidisciplinary team-based treatment approaches as well as experience with treatment in various levels of care. Prior experience in working with psychology trainees, particularly doctoral interns, is also preferred. |
