Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The
UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of five health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. Position Summary |
The James lab is recruiting a talented and highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join their research team which is focused on using chemical biology and medicinal chemistry approaches to study chromatin regulation. This individual will help to lead an exciting, new drug discovery project focused on validating new epigenetic targets in cancer and developing novel cancer therapeutics. The postdoctoral fellow will work as part of a large, collaborative, and multidisciplinary team and must be passionate about scientific research and team science.
The James lab is located at The University of North Carolina in the Eshelman School of Pharmacy. The
UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is #1 in the country. The James lab is also part of the
UNC Center for Integrative Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry, chemical biology, or related field of study. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
-Qualified applicants must have extensive experience in organic synthesis, as well as excellent communication skills.
-It is expected that the applicant has published (out or in press) in English language peer-reviewed |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
-Experience and/or an interest in epigenetics, cell biology, or cancer biology is preferred but not required. |
