Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The
UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of five health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The School teaches approximately 600 PharmD students and 145 graduate students. Position Summary |
Seeking a postdoc with the focus on the development and application of computational methods for drug discovery, including AI-assisted design of targeted DELs. The postdoc will provide a major contribution to collaborative translational projects in the Center for Integrative Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery (
CICBDD). |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Ph.D. in physical/computational chemistry or related quantitative field (e.g., physics, mathematics, computer science) and 2+ years of post-doctoral academic experience. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
- Advanced knowledge of modern statistical modeling and machine learning methods.
- Ability to prototype models in Python/C++, preferably, and communicate scientific results orally and in print.
- Experience in physics, thermodynamics, molecular simulations, chemoinformatics and general molecular modeling will be highly appreciated.
- Expected to have a broad interest in biomedical sciences and drug discovery.
- Additional specific skills include simulation and modeling software (Gromacs,
NAMD, Shrodinger suite), programming (other than C++ or Python). |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Knowledge and skills in data processing and curation, structure-based approaches would be a significant advantage. |
