The Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) for Gateway Foundation will have responsibilityfor all operations meant to improve the organization's clinical effectiveness and performance.The CCO will provide leadership to the clinical programs and will ensure that Gateway Foundation clients have access to high-quality, evidence-based services.

The Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) is responsible for:



  • Evaluates evidence- based practices both current and emerging to determine their value and role in our clinical systems.
  • Reviews research and emerging practices to evaluate in consideration of our organization clinical philosophy, to recommend changes to our clinical philosophy, and educate and reinforce the clinical philosophy across the agency.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Medical Director to ensure the organizations medical and clinical practices are aligned.
  • Collects and analyzes data measuring patient outcomes, safety, satisfaction, or other performance metrics and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Suggests performance improvement goals and targets, and assists in the development of process changes.
  • Oversees implementation of improvements and tracks performance towards goals.
  • Develops relationships with community partners to build trust and foster collaboration.
  • Has full responsibility for meeting all financial, quality assurance, budgetary, and compliance obligations.
  • Collaborates with other members of the executive management team to align departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Develops policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
  • Oversees the development of the clinical trainings and systems of the organization.
  • Establishes career paths and opportunities for clinical talent development.
  • Represents the organization internally and externally as a key representative of our organization.



CCO Requirements:



  • Master's degree in a Clinical-related field, and/or advanced certification in Counseling (or related field) required.
  • 10 years of professional/ supervisory experience in clinical settings.
  • Ability to develop and mentor others.
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills.
  • Ability to drive strategic direction.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • Planning skills.
  • Customer/client orientation.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Attentiveness.



Work Environment:



  • Office work environment, based in Chicago, Illinois.
  • Travel to sites across the country required as we operate as a national organization.
